Where an enquiry comes through from a councillor of a confidential nature - it is SALC policy not to add these to the member council record. A note can be logged if it is felt it will benefit the team on the council / organisation record. SALC in general do not deal with matters raised by individual councillors, these should be raised by the clerk or the chair.
Where a clerk raises an enquiry and marks it CONFIDENTIAL any other individual contact of a council CANNOT SEE THAT enquiry. Only the clerk can see it in the portal when they log in using their own user name and password. Currently the Chair or individual Councillors do not have access to the system.
If the Chair raises a confidential matter - a note can be logged if it is felt it will benefit the team on the council / organisation record.
See instructions on 'how to log a note'
