Creating and managing Knowledgebase Categories

The Wiki module is a knowledge database that can include policies, procedures and guides.  These documents can be stored in the CRM or links can be created within Wiki to files stored elsewhere.


Creating Categories, Parent Categories and Sub-Categories


Example

To create a Category

Menu>Knowledgebase >Configuration>Categories



Click Create

In Category Name type in the required name and a Description can be added

Click Save

 

To create a New Parent Category

Menu>Knowledgebase >Configuration>Categories

Click  Create

Type a name e.g. “Guides” in Parent Category

Click  Create & Edit

“Guides” will appear in Category Name



 Don’t be tempted to type “Guides” again in the Parent Category in this dialogue box otherwise multiple parent categories will be created

“Parent” can be added to Description

Click  Save

“Guides” will then appear in Parent Category

A sub-category can be added at this stage by entering e.g. Admin Guides in  Category Name

Click Save

On the menu under Knowledgebase Pages an arrow will appear beside parent categories to show there is a drop-down list of sub-categories

 

To create a Sub-Category under an existing Parent Category

Menu>Knowledgebase >Configuration>Categories

Click Create

In Parent Category select an existing category from the drop-down list e.g “Guides”

In Category Name type a name for the new sub-category e.g. “User Guides”

Click Save

OR

Menu>Knowledgebase >Configuration>Categories

Select a parent category e. “Guides”

Click  Edit

Under the tab  Sub Categories>Full Name, click  Add a line

In Category Name type a name for the new sub-category e.g. “User Guides”

Click  Save & Close
